I love a good juxtaposition both in design and in fashion. I've always been drawn to interiors with a good mix. I love a rustic farmhouse style dining table with a pretty crystal chandy hanging above (sounds kinda like my breakfast room huh?) or a gold ornate frame on a chalkboard (like in my new office). I just love the way two opposites paired together create a balance in a fun and interesting way. The same is true with fashion. I like girly, feminine details paired with everyday basics. Ruffles paired with distressed denim make for a fun combination!
Essentially this blouse is your basic cotton tank......except it has sweet feminine ruffles! I love the looser yet flattering fit. Paired with my favorite (mid rise!) distressed jeans and the most comfy heels I own it makes for a great date night outfit........especially a dinner date if you know what I mean. Thank goodness for mid-rise jeans!
I tend to like simple styles and easy to wear clothing. I love how this ruffled tank makes ripped jeans look a bit dressier.
I feel immensely awkward in front of the camera, in case you can't tell from pictures. A fashion blogger I am not, but thankfully my 8 year old photographer makes photo sessions pretty hilarious! Some day I'll video these sessions for you........she totally directs me.....it is the funniest thing ever!
As I've mentioned before these Saturday Style Mix posts aren't intended to make you feel like you need to run out and buy something new. The hope is that they'll inspire you to create some new outfits out of things you already own. Or hey, maybe some of you savvy sewing ladies will be inspired to add your own ruffles to an old tank! Wishing I knew how to sew right about now!
Luckily for those of you like me who can't sew to save your life, this ruffled tank has been marked down and there's an additional 30% off with code SALETREAT. It comes in other colors, besides the pale pink, too so I just may have to grab it in both black and white I love it so much! The sunglasses are 40% off today - no code needed.
The necklace is one I've had for years. I bought it at my favorite local store for accessories - Adele! The white snakeskin clutch is from Francesca's.
Happy Mother's Day weekend!!
