Bord Gáis Energy has announced its second price cut in the space of eight months.
Customers will have the unit rate of gas cut by 2.5% and the unit rate for electricity cut by 2%.
The utility has said the cuts will reduce the average household energy bill by just over €44, bringing the total reductions this year to almost €100.
The changes come into effect from October 1st
